Training

Family Outreach volunteers:

- complete comprehensive training in child development, the dynamics of child abuse and neglect, communications, and parenting;

- participate in ongoing in-service training;

- give direct and caring support to families;

- consult with a professional casework manager for guidance;

- provide support services through parenting classes, community education programs, anti-victimization programs; and

- maintain phone information and referrals to community resources.
